I don't even know how to process this information. The November 2009 issue of Playboy magazine, due out this week, will feature Marge Simpson on its cover.
The goal is to appeal to a younger audience. Maybe I'm out of touch, but images of a vaguely human yellow mother figure drawn without clothes may not be a failsafe path into the pants of young men. I never understood the sexual appeal of drawings. It reminds me of when my little sister said that Wonder Woman's underwear makes her butt look fat. (Dude, it's not that she can't shop - she's a series of freaking lines and colors.)
Who knows, maybe Playboy's just hoping people buy the magazine as a novelty. They sure do need the money.
